About the Poet of the Month Program
On the first of each month, PoetryPlease bestows the title of "Poet of the Month" to one of its members. Being named Poet of the Month does not necessarily mean that you have the most perfectly polished poetry, or that you are an unparalleled writer with little need for improvement. What we are most looking for is both talent and potential, as well as an openness to growth and critique.

If you know of a poet that you think displays the above mentioned qualities, and you wish to nominate them, please note the club. You don't have to include links to your favorite poems, but it would be helpful!

The Poet of the Month for January 2009 is =x-silentscreams-x!

Some poets try so hard to focus on writing polished poetry, that they forget about raw emotion, while others let the emotion run away with them and forget about the art of poetry. =x-SilentScreams-x has found a perfect balance with most of her poems. They both sound fun to do! Finally may be more poets can get together and converse ideas and actually get their poems critiqued by people who know what poetry looks like. Just typing out loud...^^;

I think that the Mentoring/Protoge project will be a force to reckon with. dA hasn't really seen anything quite like it, and I think it'll do everybody a world of good! (A world? NAY! A UNIVERSE! HAHAHA)

And PoetryBattle. Hell yes, we need to get that up and running again, Anthony had that going once, didn't he? Time to incorporate it here... Could be pretty interesting. :)
