Mission Statement
Welcome to PoetryPlease! We are glad you found your way here and we hope that you might find us to be a comfortable and warm community. We aim to accomplish several things with this group:
This community is nonexclusive; we welcome all writers of every caliber to become members. As such, the level of writing presented here varies greatly. Thus, one of our main tenents is a constructive atmosphere and a true desire to improve.
We encourage learning and understanding poetry. Ask questions and share your opinions. Poetry is a subjective art so there is always room for somebody's opinion. Thoughts and opinions should be treated with respect though you may feel free to counter with your own.
We try to be a very community-oriented group. This means that the members are the driving force; if you are not happy, or feel unfulfilled, then we, the staff, are letting you down. We are always willing to listen to suggestions and/or complaints. If you have an idea that you think would benefit the group, please do not hesitate to let us know!
Because we are a community, that means we expect at least a little give and take among our members. We encourage you to support your fellow members with critique and encouragement. Try to get to know each other a little bit. Be involved and participate. We want active members that feel as passionately about PoetryPlease as we do.
We hope that you find a comfortable home here; however, if you don't think our group is the right place for you, check out our
affiliates list for some other related clubs that might fit your needs!
Sincerely,
The PoetryPlease Administration Team
There are 4 simple steps to the joining process, and one you likely just did:
1. Read the PoetryPlease
mission statement.
2. If you like what you've read and still want to be a member, click "devwatch" at the top of the screen to add =
PoetryPlease to your watch.
3. Note =
PoetryPlease with "Join" in the subject line. If it's been a week or more since you've added =
PoetryPlease to your watch, you may want to mention that in your note. You can write personal information in your note if you'd like, but we can tell you now that we're probably too busy to read it. You may want to save it for your
member profile.
4. Wait
up to two weeks for your name to be added to our
memberlist. We try to update once a week, but if for some reason that does not happen, wait another week before you check in.
Note: Follow these instructions carefully. We delete all invalid notes. If you wish to inquire about a previous note you sent, please go to your sent folder, select that note, and use the reply option to forward it with your inquiry so that we know to what you are referring. Thank you!If you would like to be removed from the memberlist, simply send us a note with "cancel membership" in the subject line and we'll remove you. There's no need to put anything in the body of the note..

I want to submit a poem, but the one which i am most likely to choose would be one containing an abstract view of suicide.
Would this create a problem? If so, please tell me.
